Bigs In Blue Program

The Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia joined forces with Big Brothers Big Sisters to create this mentoring partnership. The Bigs In Blue Program links vulnerable, high-risk youth with law enforcement professionals who, by virtue of their training and experience, are best equipped to work with this special group; and combats negative perceptions and bridges the gap between youth and the law enforcement community. With proper funding this program will expand to local police departments in Northern Virginia and in Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties in Maryland.
