Run for Kids Marathon Challenge

RFK Training Program Information

IMPORTANT: Hydration Guidelines

All runners are encouraged to start training for the Marine Corps marathon no later than May 1st. Since the RFK runners are of all skill and experience levels, each runner will need to tailor a training schedule to their individual needs. These training schedule web sites are recommended to use as a guide.

The RFK training runs will be held in different locations throughout the National Capital Area each week. This diversity will allow runners to experience different running venues making the long training process more enjoyable. An RFK schedule of all the training run dates, locations, start times, and planned distances are provided for your convenience.

Since the RFK runners are of all skill and experience levels, each runner will need to tailor a training schedule to their individual needs. These training schedule web sites are recommended to use as a guide.

Since the RFK team will only be running as a team once a week, runners who seek further group running experiences are encouraged to contact their local running club. A list of the major local clubs has been compiled for your convenience.

We encourage all RFK runners to run with us at our Saturday training runs. However, if there is a week that this is not convenient for you or you are looking to run with a group during the week, check back here periodically for other runs. Please be sure to call or e-mail the contact person before you come the first time.
Please address any questions or comments to the RFKMC committee at "rfkcoord@bbbsnca.org"
