    Group Runs

    • Long Run on Saturday - Runners of all abilities are welcomed to join club members on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. at Iwo Jima for a long run.
    • The Wednesday night track workouts at Georgetown University (38th St. and Reservoir Rd., NW, track located just south of Georgetown Univ. hospital, starting at 6:30) are now attracting a varied group of about 50-60 runners each week. We now run two "flights" of workouts, one for more experienced and one for less experienced runners. Personal training advice is available from the coaches, as well as from the many other "regulars" who have been there when it comes to training highs and lows, injuries, and competition.

    Group Runs

    • WEEKNIGHTS: Meet every Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6:15 PM, near the US Capitol reflecting pool in Washington, DC. Park in the lot at the corner of 3rd Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Training starts at 6:30 PM. We run in the snow, rain, wind, cold, heat and occasionally under ideal weather conditions. Please dress appropriately. Run a 6 to 8 mile course to Iwo Jima and back, with optional side trips to the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, the 14th Street and Memorial Bridges, and every working water fountain along the way.
    • SATURDAYS: Meet every Saturday morning around 8:00 AM (7:00AM through September 2000) at the Belle Haven Marina parking lot, beside the Mount Vernon trail in Alexandria, VA. Group run starts at 8:15 AM. Please bring a water bottle and an extra gallon of ice-cold water for the rest of us. Course: Run 10-20 mile course every Saturday, depending on your training needs.

    Group Runs

    • The Prince George's Running Club (PGRC) meets every Saturday morning, rain or shine, at 8:00 am in Greenbelt National Park. Join us in the Sweetgum picnic area for either a 6.5 mile or 3 mile excursion throughout the park. The scenery is beautiful and traffic is nonexistent. There are numerous nature trails that are also available for running.

    • Every Saturday, beginning in late May, BRRC holds group long runs. Runs start at 7:30 AM from Peerce's Parking Lot. Details available on their website. There are Sunday morning and Wednesday evening training runs, too.

    Group Runs

    • Every Saturday morning at 7:00 AM, a group of Howard County Striders and friends get together in the parking lot in front of the indoor Swim Center in Wilde Lake for informal distance runs. Runners of all skills and abilities come out,and group themselves based on pace, and then go out for runs ranging from 7-20 miles. The courses are well laid out on Columbia's path system and residential streets.
