SigEp “Tug of War” raises $2,800!
Sigma Phi Epsilon at American University created a new fundraiser to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters – a “Tug of War” – and raised $2,800! The check presentation was held at The American University.
“We are so pleased that Josh Lowell of SigEp and his fraternity created this fundraiser,” said Denise Williams, BBBSNCA President and CEO. “We urge more organizations in the community to create easy fundraisers like this to help raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters.”
Teams donated $50 to participate and all the proceeds came directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters, said Josh of SigEp.
“Additionally, we set up a donations page for private money,” Josh said, “and we advertised to the campus at large.”
Josh began the fundraising with a gathering at Cava Mezze Grill Tenleytown in mid-March. Those who attended were asked to donate to BBBSNCA. With the fundraising underway, the Tug of War was held in April on the grounds of American University.
More community dollars help Big Brothers Big Sisters deliver more mentoring One-To-One programs to children in need.
