“Howlin’ at the Moon,” with Big Brother Jim Gleason on drums, featuring Jay Summerour playing harmonica, and internationally known Memphis Gold on the guitar ripped the roof off the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club on Wednesday night, April 23rd for a Benefit Concert.

It was a full house as folks danced, clapped, and tapped toes to the great music.

Jim is a practicing lawyer at Gleason, Flynn, Emig & Fogleman, Chartered and plays in the band on his own time. He created this benefit concert because he knows firsthand how a boy can be positively affected by BBBS mentoring programs.

Jim is a Big Brother to his Little Brother Malikh and wanted to raise money to help more children receiving mentoring. Chick Hernandez, helped support the event as the night’s emcee. Chick is an Emmy-winning anchor and reporter on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, but he is also a former Little Brother and was raised by his single mother.

Our thanks to our Rick Brown, Owner of Bethesda Blues, and his staff; Rory Coakley and Jennifer Kaye of the BBBSNCA Board of Directors, and other sponsors who helped raise new funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters One-To-One® mentoring services throughout the greater Washington region.
