BPF+ is a school-based program aimed at preventing teen pregnancy, generously funded in part by the D.C. Department of Health (DOH). Open to youth aged 14-18 in grades 9th–12th, particularly those deemed “at risk” in selected partner schools, this initiative addresses the challenges these adolescents face in their families and communities.
The program primarily focuses on preventing teen pregnancy, promoting overall health, discouraging risky behaviors, and fostering positive futures. It places a strong emphasis on topics such as safe sex practices, knowledge of short and long-term contraceptives, understanding STDs and STIs, referral to school-based Health Centers, promoting abstinence, enhancing refusal and decision-making skills, and empowering youth.
